THE INTERVIEW

Good preparation is paramount, not only will it help you impress and perform well, but it will also give you confidence and help with nerves!

• Know when, where and who you are meeting. Research your interviewers on LinkedIn.
• Plan your journey, make sure you know the way, what traffic is like, where you need to park and allow plenty of time.
• Research the company as best you can, spend time exploring their website and history of the business, look at their social media accounts and news. Take time to understand their products, and what they do.
• Make sure you know your own CV, and you can talk freely about your current position and recent achievements, and how these can relate to the job requirements you’re interviewing for.
• There are loads of resources online for different interview questions you can prepare for, it’s worth having a google. Your recruitment consultant will be able to help and guide further on this!
• Find the balance between being prepared for interview and being natural in the interview. A too rigorously prepared set of answers will come across as wooden, too few and you could come across as under prepared.
• It goes without saying that in preparing for your interview, ensure you present yourself smartly. Clean shoes, clothes, hair and nails!
• If the interview is on video call, treat it the same as you were face to face. Smart clothes (top half at least!) and good eye contact. Worth doing a practice one with a friend to get used to it and make sure there are no technical glitches.
• You can always take a pad and pen to take notes with you into the interview, and also to
  take any as you go, such as questions you may want to ask at the end. Other examples of
  questions to ask could be;

• What do you like most about working for *company*
• What is your management style?
• What are the current challenges to the department?
• What projects are you currently working on?
